Becoming Transformational Leaders in the Post-Biden ERA

My  new book titled, “Becoming a Transformational Leader in the Post-Biden Era” explores the principles and practices of transformational leadership in the context of contemporary political and social challenges in the United States.   The book "concisely" discusses the current state of American democracy and the need for transformational leaders to foster critical thinking and a sense of common good. It emphasizes the importance of educating the public about the dangers of partisanship and authoritarianism. ​

I believe that this book presents the perfect message at the right time. It encourages the strategic deployment of a nation of Transformational Leaders to bolster democratic consciousness. The book also details a savvy communications scheme to help counter America’s pivot into autocracy through the strengthening of the critical thought within our country’s citizenry. Whether it’s in a corporate board room, a local business, a national or local non-profit organization or a neighborhood of concerned citizens, our nation and our democracy can positively benefit from skilled Transformational Leaders as we move further into the 21st century. 

My obsession in writing this book stems from a passionate desire to constructively contribute to an effort to help fulfill the need for more transformational leadership within the American population, at this time in our country’s history. The passion driving this obsession comes from my experience as a 72-year-old,  having grown up in the U.S. during the Jim Crow Era, and spending over 50 years, educating myself, taking advantage of opportunities to succeed, both intellectually and financially, beyond all expectations, and now to witness the return of a 1950’s resurgence. The resurgence of a mentality and politics, regarding majority and male privilege; and an overt denial of the huge contribution of racial and cultural diversity to American life as we know it today.

Based on decades of experience, I strongly believe that the unique skills and training of effective Transformational Leaders and the roles they play in American life and 21st century innovation, place them in a unique position within the American citizenry.  They are in the perfect position to both perform their professional duties as well as  foster critical thinking and a sense of common good among team members, cohorts and others who trust their judgment and bipartisan civic prospective.

The communications strategy that I present in the book and have coined, Leveraging Vision, Veracity and Vocalization (LV3), can be an effective guide to aid   Transformational Leaders  to use their skills and influence to counteract partisanship and psychological polarization during routine conversations regarding making good professional, personal, and civic choices by weighting potential consequences and  fact-based outcomes.
